HARP’s Fundraising Golf Day a Swinging Success
We recently held our first ever Golf Day at Warley Park Golf Club and raised almost £1,800, which will go a long way towards helping local homeless people this winter.
Sponsored by Angel Homes and Lettings, Estuary Housing, Emersons Ltd, Genting Casinos and Rickard Luckin, the event was a swinging success with teams enjoying a bright autumn day on the golf course.
Captain of winning team The "Fore!!" Shank Redemptions, Guy Rickard, said “the HARP fundraising team did a great job in organising such an excellent day for all the teams who took part, and we were only too happy to help their "drive" to raise funds and highlight the great work they do. The Warley Park course and facilities were well above par and I know from talking to others on the day that we are all, very much, looking forward to next year's event."
Dina Jobson, HARP’s Fundraising Manager said “we were thrilled to be joined by so many golfers who made the day such a success, and we couldn’t have done it without the fantastic support from local businesses either."
She continued "we even had support from American Car Hire who revved our golf day up a notch or two with their car collection and fantastic driving experience raffle prize! We are keen to continue finding innovative ways to raise money to help local homeless people and get our community involved in our fight to end rough sleeping in Southend for good!”
